Marie Alikmaa

I serve as the Head of the Department for Business and Consumer Environment within Estonia's Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications. Regarding the conference subject matter, my team is tasked with managing policies that govern consumer protection as well as digital services, including digital platforms. That means we work daily with striking a balance between tech regulation and fostering a conducive environment for technological innovation. Formerly, I have been responsible for shaping the Estonian government's positions on the Digital Services Act and actively participated in negotiating various other crucial EU tech regulations. Additionally, I bring four years of expertise in trade policy, specifically in the realm of digital trade.
