Ott Velsberg

Ott Velsberg is the current Chief Data Officer for the Estonian government. He oversees strategic coordination of data science and data governance in Estonia, , including domains of artificial intelligence, open data, citizen-centric data governance, once-only principle, data architecture and much more. Ott has led Estonia to a trendsetter status in data governance, open data and artificial intelligence. Today Estonia has the leading data and AI economy in Europe, contributing to 4.9% of Estonia’s GDP. He holds a Ph.D. at Informatics and is an associated researcher in the department of Informatics at Umeå University.
