Zekeriya Çoştu graduated from Boğaziçi University Industrial Engineering Department in 2008. During his professional career, he worked as a commercial unit manager and strategic planning consultant at companies such as Turkish Airlines and TRT.

He was appointed as the Project Management Office Director at the Ministry of Industry and Technology in 2018. Within the National Technology Initiative; he took part in various projects to support R&D and innovation activities in Türkiye and to develop the technology ecosystem.

With a view to provide a stronger institutional basis for the National Technology Initiative among public administrations as well as the Ministry of Industry and Technology; he took an active role in the establishment of the General Directorate for National Technology within the Ministry in April 2020. While he was still serving as the General Director for National Technology, he was appointed as the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology on 22 June 2023. Çoştu is fluent in English. He is married and has two children.
