USIBC launches AI task force to deepen US-India collaboration
The US-India Business Council (USIBC) has launched its AI Task Force (AI-TF), aimed at fostering alignment between US and Indian leadership in artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative, operating under the auspices of USIBC, seeks to advance AI concepts and principles, drive multistakeholder processes, and promote the development and commercialisation of AI technologies.
Led by USIBC President Ambassador Atul Keshap, the AI-TF aims to harness AI’s potential to enhance competitiveness in both economies while upholding shared democratic values. Industry leaders like Kamal Ahluwalia and Todd Skinner, alongside USIBC Board Chairman Ed Knight, underscore the importance of a principled approach to AI adoption. Dr. Sethuraman Panchanathan of the US National Science Foundation emphasises the need for partnerships in fostering a trustworthy AI enterprise.
This collaboration, symbolised by the launch of the AI Task Force, marks a significant step towards enhancing US-India cooperation in AI. The USIBC, established in 1975, is a crucial platform for promoting business ties between the two countries, focusing on advancing key policy priorities and strengthening connections between cities and states.
